My Story
Hey! 👋 I’m Lama, an Award-winning Science Communicator.
I have always been curious and enjoy spending time with my books over being out. A bit of a nerdy indoor cat! But hey! A fun one!
I wanted to be a researcher, sit in a lab, watch my cells grow and take care of them while listening to my hard rock music. I started studying Biotechnology Engineering and transferred to Molecular Biology and Genetics. It was all fun until I got to REALLY sit in a lab and watch the cells. It was the slowest universe I could have ever lived in.
I love science, I love talking about it, and I know how and where to find it. So, when I learned about science communication, I never looked back.
Transitioning from Academia to Creativity
Academic Aspirations 🧬
My journey began as a student with a plan to pursue academia. In 2015, I found myself increasingly turning to YouTube as a way to visualise what I am learning. The struggle for simple, accurate information got my creative juices flowing.
Blog Kickoff 🖋️
In 2016, I took the leap into the blogosphere to improve my writing skills, have fun, and embrace my inner nerd.
Firing Up Famelab 🏆
I participated in the “Famelab” science communication competition and won! It was here, amongst all the praise and encouragement, where I got the communication bug and explored new opportunities.
Mastering Digital Marketing 🚀
I thought that if I wanted to write for the digital world, I needed to learn more about it. So, In 2021, I did my Master’s in Digital Marketing.
Lama Science Blog 🖋️
By 2022, I created Lama Science to simplify complex science content, and along the way, I discovered that I’m pretty into neuroscience and genetics.

In 2023, I finally took the step that had been brewing for a long time, simplifying science through engaging videos where I could combine my knowledge and creativity.

Today, I collaborate with clients worldwide, crafting compelling narratives that break through the noise of complex information. Whether through consultations, workshops, or digital content creation, my goal is to bring science to the forefront of diverse conversations.
